Why do musicians from different backgrounds come together and form a Southern Classic / Classic Rock band? For the collective experience of powerful music that tells stories about life, love, and the American experience. 

At the heart of Highway Legends is a fusion of styles deeply rooted in love for guitar-driven riffs, exploratory jams, catchy hooks, and layered-harmonies. Each member of the band brings their own musicality and expression to the group. That dynamic combination creates energetic live music that brings back memories and makes you want to rock.

The road to becoming Highway Legends started in May 2022, when keyboardist, Dave, joined the Southern Rock band Earls of Kent (EoK). There, Dave met Ron, the bassist who had played with EoK for several years. In March 2023, both the lead and rhythm guitarists departed. Kenny and Andy auditioned and stepped in to fill the void, injecting fresh energy in EoK.

A year later, the band’s lead singer departed. Kenny stepped up to the mic, taking on lead vocals that bring that Southern Rock sound. In September 2024, Kat  joined EoK as a guest singer and then dedicated herself to becoming an integral part of the EoK sound. December 2024 was the last show under the EoK name. 

In February 2025, Highway Legends was born. Chris joined the group as drummer, adding his passion and precision to the rhythm section. Now, combined with Kenny’s lead vocals and masterful guitar work, Kat’s charisma and rockin vocals, Andy’s powerhouse rhythm and lead guitar, Ron’s thunderous grooves, and Dave’s technical keyboard proficiency, Highway Legends is building a fan base and reputation in the DMV for great, live Southern and Classic Rock. 

Kat along side Kenny as lead vocalist brought fresh possibilities opening up the door to newer material the band traditionally did not do in the past. The band has morphed into a multi-genre, multi-era rock band now performs great music from many genres and styles from the 70's, 80's, on up. 

Highway Legends' journey is a testament to perseverance, talent, and shared passion for music and entertainment. Through every twist and turn, the band faced challenges head-on, emerging stronger and more determined than ever to build their own legend on the highways of rock and roll.
